Dear Users of UW Libraries and the UW Library System,

In November 2024, there will be a change in the software of the entire UW library system.

In connection with this, we are already announcing a suspension of all system activities (borrowing, returns, reservations, orders, renewals, payments, reader registrations)

From November 8th (from 4:00 PM) to November 25th.

(The end date of November 25th is preliminary and may change.)

Returns falling within this period will be rescheduled for December 9th.

We kindly ask you to borrow the necessary books in advance, even if you think you may not need them immediately.

Orders, reservations, and borrowing history will not be transferred to the new system.

Outstanding fees for overdue materials will remain, and a fee will also be charged for currently overdue items, marked as “for a delayed renewal”.

In view of the above, we invite and encourage you to return books, even those overdue, before November 8th.

(No amnesty is planned.)

The changes apply to all faculty libraries and the University Library.

The coordinator of the system changes is the University Library.
